Animal Species found in Namibia
Listed in alphabetical order with the binomial name in green print
Namibia has the most fascinating game population and the variety is really vast due to the many different geographical areas Namibia has. Etosha National Park is a game and bird viewing paradise and there is never a dull moment. The camps have water holes where animals can be viewed at night. These water holes have sufficient seating and lighting facilities to make evening game viewing an exciting experience. Helen and I saw a 25 minute scuffle at the Halali water hole between a herd of 12 elephants and 5 spotted hyena which was a truly memorable experience.
Thanks to SA Tourism for their permission to use some of the animal images below. Please visit the "SA Tourism" website for an update on what's up in South Africa. The rest of the images were taken in Namibia and the Kgalagadi National Park in South Africa, which borders Namibia to the east, by myself and Helen, my wife.
